Hello my friends, I have been watching Dyphrologique with his Scharnhorst for a while now and it's about time I introduced my own attempt at fixing this huge model.
It is taking a lot of modifications already and is going to be a looooong build.
I have opted for her final fit and paint from operation Ostfront prior to her sinking in 1943, I like the camouflage pattern!
1. I work in an emergency call center and my shifts don't allow for much 'me' time, especially as I am also working extra shifts to cover holidays and sickness (Covid)!
2. I am not very good at getting photographs from camera to computer to host and then to here, so please be patient with me.
As a way of saving what little build time I have I have 'cheated' a bit by investing in a pile of aftermarket bits. Chuen Yu wooden deck and gun barrels set and some of White Ensigns Bismarck photoetch sets. (I took a risk and have found that they mostly fit where needed.)
Hopefully this means that this build should be completed within the year.
What are the rules here on displaying the Swastika on my model, To me it is part of the history of this ship but I do not want to offend you, my new friends, by posting photos of my model containing a potentially upsetting image.
Hopefully images of my hull, forward structure, main mast, funnel and turrets will appear next week.
